The idea of being a “starving artist was never part of what I chose for myself. Who honestly would want to go through seven years of college and grad work in a seminary like I just have, write dozens and dozens of papers, work hard to get the grades I did and the degrees I was awarded, and then end up not even being able to get a job at places where I have almost the exact qualifications and experience the companies/ministries/schools are looking for?

I was told seven years ago by an HR manager that even though my resume showed, I had the qualifications to do the job I applied for at Rider College, unfortunately the associate degree wouldn’t be enough— these days, she said, I definitely would need to have at least a bachelor’s degree in order to get any good paying job. So September 2018 I started on this college journey again, and I haven’t stopped until this June, 2025. I have tried several times over the past few years in Pennsylvania and now the almost 2 years I’ve been back in New Jersey, to get at least a part-time job that has something to do with all the hard work I put into at school.

The LORD OPENS AND CLOSES (or KEEPS those doors closed) the “doors 🚪of opportunity” in our lives (see Revelation 3:7-8). For whatever reason that right now is not altogether humanly understood by me, this is the way the LORD wants it to be…and HE has the final “say so” on EVERYTHING.

But then again, I’m sure Paul the Apostle didn’t think his tent ⛺️ making (see Acts 18:1-4) would have to be a major part of his life-the part of the life the LORD God chose for him, not what he chose for himself. But, since Paul surrendered all to the Lord Jesus, and I have done that myself several years ago, we have had to walk on the Path HE chose for us, in FAITH, trusting that no matter how grim it may look sometimes, He IS in control, He knows what is best for us, and He WILL provide.

I am not thrilled to have to rely on such an unstable income, along with writing my 📚 books. But that’s what the LORD put in my Path to do, while concentrating on sharing His Word-and some of it is definitely not welcomed by human ears to hear—which makes all of this that much more difficult to do as His servant.

BUT—the message of the ENTIRE WORD ✡️📖✝️of God must be heard. We cannot “cut out” the parts we don’t like or agree with. I am like my brother in the Faith, Paul, who said, “Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you THE WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD” (Acts 20:26-27). The Lord Jesus will deal with those who refused to heed His📖Word on the Day of ⚖️Judgment(see Revelation 20:11-15).

THOSE artistic skills and abilities that He has placed in me to use, are to the LORD more “doors 🚪of opportunity” to reach thousands, and hopefully millions more, with His Word and message of REPENTANCE, HOPE, SALVATION, and REDEMPTION.

Until He knows I am done with my service here to Him, I will continue to walk the Path in the Dark with the FAITH I have in Him, holding His hand, knowing that He will always be faithful “to complete that good work in me, until the Day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6)

I will be adding new items to each of the collections now that I have a bit of more time to do so, in between writing the two books, taking care of the biblical and deliverance counseling ministry, and anything else that the Lord throws at me. 😄😊

Just a reminder–my FOUR books are available on AMAZON, and I would appreciate if you would purchase either the Kindle e-book, paperback or hardcover. Please try not to do the KDP pages, because us authors do NOT make hardly any money off of that. I keep my Kindle books at “single-digit” prices, well below $10, because there is no printing fee involved as there is with the physical books (especially with the one illustrated 😣devotional I have–very expensive printing fees for that one!). So I will thank you in advance for purchasing one of the three main book formats, to financially help me out–between the Zazzle store, the books, and whatever donations I may get (so far, nothing, unfortunately) from this blog page, that will hopefully help keep me from going in the “red”, which is soon to happen.

The job market is a joke; I have applied to so many different types of jobs–all of which I have have some experience from jobs in years past. When my resume is almost an exact match to what these employers are looking for, and YET, I don’t even get a phone call–something very odd is going on. It just doesn’t “add up”.

I will thank you all in advance for either visiting Amazon and looking up my “Walking in the Dark with FAITH” books, and/or my Zazzle “Faith In the Dark” store, and browsing around to see if there’s something you would like to purchase. I have tried to make sure and have enough items with various prices–from magnets that are $5 or so, to pillows and prints that may be upwards of $40-50, thereabouts. The T-shirts and mugs are the more popular items–the few items that have been purchased the most were the shirts and the giant coffee mugs (I have a couple of shirts and mugs–I am very pleased with the quality of them both).

UPDATE—
If you do decide to purchase one of my books— thank you ❤️so much, by the way— but I do please ask you to stay away from the KDP Select— they only pay pennies on a dollar. It helps the author out much better if one would buy a Kindle book or one of the physical books instead.

** The price of printing, especially for illustrated books is astronomical. I tried to be very fair in my book prices especially with the hard covers, but I need to make at least a few dollars on each of the books.  Before I revised my book prices the other day, their new rules had me at royalties of under a dollar for some of my books!!😫😩😭☹️ apparently I have to keep 🧐checking KDP publishing more often… 🙄😒
The royalty rate it’s not the best, but it’s better than nothing.

🙄Well, you can only put off the inevitable for so long…🫤

Lord knows I’ve been up to my ears these last seven years with my undergrad and grad studies, reading more than a 📚📚few dozen books, journal articles, etc. along the way, researching and writing 📄several papers 📃to boot.

My 😑mind, even during the breaks in between classes, could not seem to relax 😓long enough, and before I knew it, another semester would begin, and the stress to finish each class with a decent grade would start all over again.

During what I initially thought would only be a five month break before school began again in August, I asked the Lord to help me decide whether or not I should continue in my PhD program. I had recently found out through Liberty Academic Advising that EACH of the last three courses (Stage 3) of the program were one whole semester long, AND— there was a very good chance that between the second and third classes, the student would have to REPEAT that entire semester because those are the semesters where they are working on the chapters of their dissertation. They wouldn’t be able to move forward until their mentor said that they were ready. Talk about added stress!!🙄🤦‍♀️ I shuddered at the thought of just how much longer this would take me to complete the whole program. I would be in my mid 60s by the time the program would be completed…

I was 😣already hanging on by a thread mentally and emotionally this last year and a half, especially since having to move back to New Jersey and helping out my family member, giving up my apartment in the area I loved, and my job in the process. But, this is where the Lord assigned me to be. I had to be the obedient servant and soldier, and go where the Captain of the Host sent me.

But, nevertheless, I left the decision up to the Lord God. I surrendered everything to the Lord at the beginning of this FAITH journey in 2016, and since HE was the one who insisted on me returning to college back in September 2018, I felt He should be the One to say when it all should end.

Well, finding out this past month that I reached the maximum amount of my Financial Aid, and suddenly having no way to pay for the rest of my PhD program OR the majority of my bills, sent my stress level rising to new heights (my blood 🩺pressure 🩸numbers were not good, and I never even had blood pressure issues!!). I was not in a good place.😣😞💔

But, the Lord DID answer my question, didn’t He? In His 🙄usual and sudden, abrupt way of doing things,😏the Lord placed me back on this continual journey of mine—walking in the DARK, not knowing how my FINANCIAL situation was going to improve. But that is where the 🙏FAITH part once again, comes in.

I loved going to school; I loved learning, especially about the Bible and the ancient languages on an academic level, in order to take all that I’ve learned and put that knowledge towards my book writing, and also the deliverance ministry counseling that I just began. I continue to pray that people will one day begin to reach out to me with whatever issues they are having, to find out if there is a spiritual “root” to their problems (there usually is!). My desire is to get the person the help they need, whether it’s through my specific skill set or helping them find a biblical counselor, deliverance minister, or even an exorcist, that can further aid them on their healing journey of particular darker spiritual issues.

There’s so much that I’ve learned about the spiritual realm and how the dark forces keep people in bondage in so many ways, but the good part is that there are biblical solutions to those issues, and I pray that I can be part of someone being delivered, set free and healed in the power and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ through this deliverance ministry. WITDWF Deliverance Ministry is a NON-licensed, Biblically -based, Holy Spirit-led counseling service. I cannot “charge” people for my services; I can only accept financial donations.

But in the meantime — although I am honestly a bit reluctant to do this— I will be working on the third and final installment of my book series, “Walking In the Dark With FAITH”, and a couple other devotional book projects as well. The one thing that the 👿enemy keeps beating 😖down on me to this day, is that I’m a self-published author that nobody cares about, and that no one is interested in reading what I’ve written or shared about my life, etc. Those evil 😈spirits are relentless in their attacks!

BUT— then I am reminded by the Holy🕊️ Spirit that it was the ✡️Lord ✝️Himself Who placed me on this path to writing, first with the blog page back in March 2017, and then some months later telling me He wanted me to do this book series on my life. So it IS and always has been, part of His plan and purpose for my life. Besides, how many prophets in the Bible were well off financially, and didn’t have a care in the world about what the Lord was going to assign them to do next??🙄 Exactly. 😏

Like the Lord recently reminded me in the midst of my current financial situation—the book writing was never supposed to be a huge 💲💲💲money maker( though it would be a blessing to my financial situation if people bought my books to just support me in my journey!🙄🙏). YET He knew that if I did this through faith and obedience and all the hard work that comes along with it, the few that do read my books will come to realize that it truly was a Holy Spirit-inspired faith journey that was helping to make me into the spiritually mature servant of God, that the Lord destined for me to be all along. And, HE Himself would send more people my way to discover the book series and the help I would like to provide to them in my deliverance ministry. ☺️❤️In the meantime, as it is written, HE would (as He has always been!) be Jehovah Jireh—my Provider. 🙏❤️✡️📖✝️

So, in the midst of having to read approximately another 16 or so books that are sitting on my desk right now, to assist me in both my writing and deliverance ministry endeavors, I will pick up where I left off a few years ago, and complete the third 📗book in my series.

I am already jotting down notes for what would have been my 📓dissertation book about the Most High God, the Triune Godhead, the Divine Council Worldview, and how humanity was divinely made in the image of God; how we were always meant to be eternally part of His heavenly kingdom and council, through the sacrifice and shed blood on the Cross by our Lord Jesus Christ. It’ll be a while before this one is finished, but I have a feeling that the books I’ve worked on already and all the schooling I had, were just “putting my feet in the water” and preparing me as they say, to work on this massive 📝writing project. 

Finally, I’m leaning towards having a Facebook page primarily for my book writing, spiritual warfare and deliverance ministry. Other authors, writers, and people who are truly interested in learning more about the topics I speak and write on, especially when it comes to spiritual warfare, deliverance, and my faith journey, can find me on that page as well as visit my WITDWF (“Walking in the Dark With FAITH”) blog page which is listed in my bio.

Updating My Book Information…

I had made a couple of posts in the past about the first two or three books I self-published, but somehow I was either amiss or cannot find the post I spoke about the SECOND book in my WITDWF series. I figured I would just make a quick blog post about all of them, and where you could purchase them if you so desired to support me and my writing endeavors.

You can actually go to the Category list on the RIGHT here, and click on “Nett’s Books”, and you will be able to read up on most of what I published. Or, like I said, you can hop onto Amazon and see them for yourself; I have them in three formats—Kindle, Paperback, and also Hard Cover. The illustrated devotional is priced the way it is, because unfortunately I did not realized until I had it all done and ready for publishing, how expensive color printing was going to be! Lesson learned. But it is a nice book, and would make a beautiful gift for someone as well. I would love to do more of those, if I could find a way to make it cheaper in cost.

As I stated, I am a self-published author, because unfortunately I am not well known, nor do I have the thousands of dollars it takes to go through a publishing company, and that’s only IF they decided to publish a person’s book. My books are through Amazon’s KDP Publishing, and I am able to sell them not only on Amazon’s website, but after a while the “door” opened up to also include Barnes and Noble, Thrift Books, and Books a Million’s websites as well.

Being a self-published author, YOU have to do the work of advertising and pushing the sales of your book all by yourself. I was led to believe that Amazon had some help in it, but that wasn’t the case. Of course, if I had the money to do so, I could have hired marketing people to do that for me, but as it was (and still is!) I didn’t have the money for such a luxury. I had to do my own editing (ugh!!) of the book, dealing with how to set it all up on KDP (you need a LOT of patience to do it!), before you finally submit it all for KDP to give it the “green light” to make it go “live” for purchasing.

If a person wanted to “donate” to me, one of the ways you the reader can do it, is by purchasing a physical copy of the book (I do have them on Kindle for purchase as well; the only bad part is when someone does the “Kindle pages”—I only make a few dollars or so with each physical book, and with the page reading, I make much less!😭🥺)—that way you can catch up with the first two books, and/or buy one of the devotionals, and I would be extremely grateful!😊❤️ So much work goes into writing and editing the book, so it would mean the world to me for someone to purchase one of my books.

If you’re not much of a book reader, the “donate” button on the right would also help this out-of-work writer while I continue my online classes at Liberty University for my PhD in Bible Exposition for the next two years (ugh!). Let’s 🙄🙏🏼pray that it won’t be any longer than that!

Once I am able to do so, I will try and have some “subscriber only” content for the steadfast and determined Bible students, which honestly will be videos and some of the more serious topics (like spiritual warfare, dealing with the demonic, rebellious sons of God, Divine Council of God, etc.) that will most likely be part of my dissertation and future books, God willing. I also may either do one or both things concerning my third book in the WITDWF series—share what is in that third installment with those paid subscribers (and the subscription will be no more than $12 or so a year), and/or write the book and put it out there for publishing.

My new illustrated devotional is now LIVE on Amazon! I used a beautiful picture for the cover, and you will find many other colorful pictures with Scriptures and inspirational quotes on each of the pages with the devotionals.

The book can be purchased through Amazon in either hardcover, paperback, or Kindle format.

This book would make a beautiful gift for someone, and the devotionals are no more than a 5-10 minute read. It is a great way to start your day, during a mid-day break, or before you settle in for the night, to read a little bit of Scripture, then meditate and pray on it.

I hope you will check it out! I do also have the first of my three book series, “Walking in the Dark with FAITH” for sale. The 12-month devotional is based off of my first year and a half of my faith journey, with Scripture verses that stood and spoke out to me during that time. Just look up the above mentioned title and “12 Month Devotional” to find it.

I am trying to hopefully finish the second of my three-book faith journey series (the subtitle will be, “A Season of Trials, Temptations and (Many!) Tears”), before the end of this month, especially before my fall grad classes start again. Once they do, that takes up most of my time and energy. I will make another post when the book is available.

But I realize the more I write, the more I am enjoying it. It definitely is proving to be something the Lord wanted me to do all along—I just did not initially think I had it in me to write a book, and now I just completed my third one; amazing what a person can do when they allow the Spirit to move within them and use the gifts that He gives to us. Not only does it end up blessing me and honoring Him, but it also blesses those who read the books and get inspired and encouraged by them. God bless!

I’m finally a Published Author!

Well it finally happened–I’m a published Author!! I’ve been working on the first of my three-book series, “Walking in the Dark with FAITH” for the past few years; it has taken that long BECAUSE of all the craziness that happened in my life that you’ll read about in these books.

I am just another “nobody” with no money, who is living off of the provisions that the Lord God sends me–that was part of this whole “faith walk” to begin with. I had to surrender all to the Lord , and follow Him wholeheartedly, as He put me back on the Path that He intended for me all along. The finances, the “love of my life”, a place to live, a job, etc., all were to be handed over to the Lord Jesus, and have Him do with (or without!) them in my life, as He so pleased.

When it came to the publishing part of the journey, I did a lot of research, and quickly found out I did not have the funds it was going to take, to have an editor, or a publishing house to pick me up and help me get this done. It was all having to be done on my own, and I am not tech savvy in the least! But at this point, I had no choice–I had to continue to be obedient to the Lord, and get this done and published, so I did the best I could with it.

The cover part was easy–my sister in the Lord Patricia Hoffman, is an artist and sculpter. You can look her up on Facebook, and see her work. She offered to paint a scene that had to do with the very journey I’m on, and when she was finished with it, I absolutely loved it, and that is how I managed to have an awesome cover for my books!

Both the first of the series and the companion devotional can be purchased on Amazon.com in either Kindle or paperback format.

It wasn’t my decision to be so “open” with my story, but the Lord reminded me that:

1)There are several people in the Bible who would have rather not let us know what they did or said in their lives,

2)It helped some of us to learn from their mistakes,

3)He alone is the Judge of all, so being obedient to His instructions to “Write it all down”, is what He asked of me, and I did it. Obedience is KEY, as I have learned.

I pray that these books bless you and help to encourage you on your own faith walk in the dark with the Lord God. There will be a pattern of ongoing tests, trials, tears, but also spiritual growth as the second and third books are written and published. I hope to have the second one finished by the beginning of next year, in between finishing up my last semester of college and getting my Bachelor’s Degree! Finally!
